Cure Acne With Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B-5

It's absolutely maddening! Here comes another one of those evil red lumps surfacing right where I least want red ugly lumps, on my face.  If you are one of us unfortunate souls who is proned to acne you understand my frustration.  Acne affects not only teenagers, I'm 44 years old and still struggling with it but only when I stubbornly try to do without the little gem of a vitamin supplement that I'm about to share with you.

Yes it's true there is a simple vitamin that will cure acne.  What is this vitamin? It is vitamin B-5 also known as pantothenic acid.  A scientific study was conducted in Singapore by Lit - Hung Leung, M.D. The study was designed to observe the effects of pantothenic acid on acne. Of the 100 patients in the study all of them experienced a near 100% remission of their acne.

I will briefly sum up the findings of this study. Pantothenic acid is one of three components of a very important coenzyme, coenzyme-A. In our bodies coenzyme-A serves two purposes: 1-the metabolizing of fatty acids [ oils ], 2-sex hormone synthesis. When there is a deficiency of pantothenic acid in the diet there is a deficiency of coenzyme-A production in the body. When an inadequate amount of coenzyme-A exists something's  gotta give. In that case the body will show favor to the more important function of sex hormone synthesis and will underperform the function of fatty acid [ oil ] metabolism. Oil then accumulates in the skins sebaceous glands. Secretion of sebum, a thick, gummy oil, is increased. Pores become clogged with a combination of sebum, skin cells and bacteria causing pimples. All of this perfectly explains why teenagers and young adults are most prone to acne as hormone production is greatest in these years  therefore a greater need for coenzyme-A of which pantothenic acid is a part.

In the study 10 grams of pantothenic acid was given to each patient per day at least. This is 20 - 500 milligram capsules per day. This dosage may seem high but based on everything I have read and from my own personal experience and that of my 19 year old son who has been taking it for over 2 years, it is perfectly safe. In fact I am presently taking 12 grams [ 24 capsules ] per day. In the study the subjects also applied a pantothenic acid cream topically  and while this may have hastened results I've seen first hand that excellent results can be achieved with just the capsules.  It is recommended to take a B complex vitamin in addition because taking a high dose of one B vitamin can cause a deficiency of other B vitamins. I take one B-50 capsule a day. I order my pantothenic acid online from Swansons Health Products, make sure you get 500 milligram capsules not 50 mgs.

Disclaimer: To the best of my  knowledge using pantothenic acid in high doses is completely safe and effective [as mentioned I use it myself along with my 19 year old son]. This article is for information purposes. Do your own research and make an informed decision.
