Secret Acne Cure - Does a Secret Cure For Acne Exist?

Most big name companies want you to believe that their product is the "secret acne cure" that will give you full clear and radiant looking skin seen in their ads. You've probably seen those ProActiv commercials on TV telling you to try their best three step cleanser which will give you skin like Jessica Simpson or Vanessa Williams. The thing is these stars are getting paid millions of dollars to do this, so don't always think that just because they're promoting ProActiv it means that they prefer it over any other type of acne treatment.

You ever watch David Chappell? Well he once did a stand up comedy where he told a story about endorsing Pepsi and Coke. When asked which tasted better, he really didn't even know. But he did tell the crowd, "All I know is that Pepsi paid me most recently, so it tastes better." Ah the power of big corporate money... I wouldn't blame 'em. If someone asked me to say that ProActiv was the one secret acne cure in the world and paid me a million, I'd say, "Heck yeah it is!"

The point is many companies will have you believe that their next new thing is the secret acne cure when in fact it's probably been around for ages. Active ingredients such as Benzoyl Peroxide seen in ProActiv can literally be bought at your nearby Walgreen's for half the price. However, I do believe in a secret acne cure that modern American culture tends to neglect when it comes to fighting off acne.

I mean you can do things such as having a body and skin friendly diet, rather than eating foods that are just waiting for a chance to get in your body and cause an acne breakout down the line. You know, spend that extra 10 minutes preparing yourself with a turkey and ham sandwich, a bowl of fresh fruit, and a glass of nice, cold water. Doing this consistently will help clean out your body from inside as well as help you achieve clearer, more radiant looking skin.

So, in conclusion, everyone has had bad acne at times (including me), times where you don't even feel like you can get out of the house without people turning their heads and looking at you. And even if you have harsh acne right now, you can't just rely on a secret acne cure or secret cleanser to cure it! Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's no such thing. However if you keep up with a treatment that serves to help cure acne, not just from the outside, but also from the inside as well, you'll be able to completely heal and clear up you're acne within weeks.

A Cure For Acne - Do Scientists Now Have a Breakthrough?

I was reading online that in a national British newspaper, The Telegraph, it was claimed that Scientists believe they have found a breakthrough treatment for acne. In the article, it was quoted that the drug, specifically named SMT D002, can actually reduce the flow of sebum.

This fact is believed to be a significant cause (around 90 percent) for the cause of acne. At present, the drug SMT D002, is in the form of a pill and is at present in use to treat a certain condition other than acne. However the drug company has plans to turn the product into a cream form which will make it easier to use. Researchers believe it could become as effective a treatment as retinoic acid - form of vitamin A - which is currently used to treat moderate to severe cases.

However, it must be noted that Roaccutane, which is the most widely used form of retinoic acid, has unfortunately been linked to suicides that have occurred among acne sufferers. This was quoted in the article. SMT D002 produced no significant side-effects when volunteers took it in pill form. Around three in every 10 who were patients who took retinoic acid do not respond to this drug, leaving many sufferers with no effective treatment.

The spokesman for the company Summit Corporation, which is based in Oxford, said that it was turning the drug into a cream because it was likely to work more quickly. It added that because of commercial reasons, it would not reveal the name of the existing drug. Richard Storer, the company's chief scientist, said: "It is a major drug, but we cannot reveal its name or the condition it currently treats."

The Best Cure For Acne - Bar None!

I'll try to put this lightly - I am sick of your acne. Please don't be offended. I mean well, honestly. I rode on the acne thrill ride for far too long myself. "It's gone! It's back. I'm up! I'm down. It's gone away again, yea! No, it's coming back...I Wanna Get off Already!!!"

I went to doctors and specialists. I tried over the counter and under the counter products. I watched infomercials, subscribed to acne magazines, and spent way too much money on soap. I finally found the best cure for acne, and promptly put it at the top of my "Things I never want to hear, speak, or even think about again" list. Unfortunately, shutting it out is impossible even with my acne cured. Why? Because of your acne. That's right! The fact that you and so many others still have acne means I'm up to my ears in acne treatment ads and products!

I have to do something to help. Partly for selfish reasons, but mostly because if you still have acne you're not curing it right! I have a feeling you still think acne is brought on by dirt and oil, giving you the impression that chronically washing your face will do the trick. I'm willing to bet you're currently using some kind of "special" soap exclusive for acne ridden skin. Am I right? If so, don't worry. We've all been there...

You're simply misinformed about acne (as most people are). Acne doesn't have to be such a big deal in your life, just take it from someone who knows. The reason you still have to pick up "face wash" while grocery shopping has more to do with the groceries you purchase than any germs on your face. I'll help you out with a few tips on foods to stay away from to avoid causing breakouts. For starters:

-Refined Sugars:

You can probably find refined sugar in your pantry or refrigerator right now. Cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, soda, mayonnaise, and salad dressing all contain refined sugar. If you can't cut it out of your diet completely, take it in moderation please! Your skin will thank you for it.

-Caffeine:

Caffeine is an easy one. You can find it in coffee, soda, chocolate, tea, and so on. Caffeine has its negative and positive aspects, so I wouldn't recommend extracting it from your diet completely but again... in moderation.

-Hydrogenated Oils:

A common example of hydrogenated oil is margarine. You can also find it in many cooking oils, such as vegetable oil, and in peanut butter.

-Fast Food:

I don't think I need to elaborate much on this one. It's harder for me to think of ways fast food isn't bad for your skin than ways that it is. I would advise you to eat as healthy as possible if you really want to cure your acne.

As I said before, acne isn't that hard to handle if you know what you're dealing with. There's really no need to stock up on products to treat it when you can simply rearrange your grocery shopping a bit!

Now that you know what foods to avoid for preventing breakouts, you're ready to move on to the next step. The cure is literally in the bag! Click below to get the goods on what foods will cure your acne right away.

Holistic Cure For Acne

Acne Cures: Is there a Natural Acne Cure that Works?

When I was 12 years old I was really embarrassed by my spots and went to the doctor for some help. Looking back I didn't' have a really severe case of acne at all. But to me it was the end of the world!! I was so self-conscious anyway, that this just seemed to make everything worse. I thought that if I could just get rid of my spots, everything would be OK. My doctor prescribed antibiotics for me, and I took them for the next 2 years. I still had some spots, but it didn't develop into the severe acne I feared. I was also vigilant about cleaning my skin as I felt the spots came from the dirt outside, so I applied whatever new product I could find to my skin.

At the time I was really grateful to my doctor and I thought he was offering me a great solution. He never mentioned anything about diet or other things I could do to help to clear the acne natural.

It was only years later when I began to suffer from some health problems and then trained in holistic medicine that I realized the harm I had done to myself by taking antibiotics for two years. I had Candida, chronic constipation, allergies to antibiotics and low energy, which had all been triggered by the anti-biotics and took a long time to clear.

As I studied more I learnt that rather than being something that was "done" to me from the outside dirt, infection etc, the cause for me acne lay within me. It was my internal system that was out of balance, and that was where I could have cured myself of the acne, rather than looking for something to take it away. If I had been told to make a few simple changes to my diet and to shown how to detoxify my system, I could have really improved my health. Instead, I poured more toxins into my body and onto my skin, stretching my already stressed internal systems even further and causing more and more health problems for myself.

The first thing you can start to do is to drink more pure water - nothing added. I always keep a bottle by my side and keep sipping. I fill it up from the filter and find it easy to drink at least 3 litres a day this way.

Natural Acne Cure For Acne Scars

Most people are not aware of the fact that there are many effective treatments for acne, many are prescribed but some are natural acne cures. Therefore they fail to seek early treatment when possible. Unfortunately, it is only after acne has progressed from a mild or moderate stage to severe acne that there is a risk of developing acne scars.

If it is possible to stop the progression of your acne in the early stages, it is best to do this since acne scars should be avoided at all costs. Sometimes acne can heal itself with time when left alone. Other times, it advances into a more serious stage.

Once your acne reaches the stage where nodules and cysts are developing, there is the possibility of acne scars forming. There are a few treatments targeted at removing acne scars however still some scarring still might be permanent or require regular treatment. Generally, the great effects from treatments for acne scars are temporary.

If your acne turns into a severe case, it is very important to pursue treatment to halt any further progression. You should visit a doctor or a dermatologist as soon as possible in order to get the correct medical advice and to get the proper prescription medicine. Effective treatment at this stage can be the difference between getting rid of acne and being plagued with a lifetime of scarring. Acne spots are much bigger in the severe stage than during the mild or moderate stages. They can also be quite painful as well.

All cases of acne are different. Some treatments that work perfectly for one person can have absolutely no impact on another. The same is true for treatments for acne scarring. Acne affects the skin of every person in a different way. Each instance of scarring is unique to the individual. Therefore, acne scarring treatments are usually dealt with on a case by case basis. Most people like to find a natural acne cure.

There are six well-known treatments for acne scarring. Most of the time a combination of treatments are used as opposed to a single treatment. Acne scars are generally treated using one or more of the following treatments: Chemical Peels, Punch Techniques, Dermabrasion, Laser Resurfacing, Subcision or Augmentation. These treatments differ in price and in their effectiveness. A high price doesn't always mean the most success for you so weigh each option and its results carefully.

Augmentation is when a substance is injected under the acne scars to help raise the crater-like scars that severe acne will leave. Collagen is usually used for this and sometimes fat from other areas of your body. Collagen has only temporary results and the treatment would need to be repeated on a regular basis. Other methods such as dermabrasion and laser resurfacing are more expensive and they are not always successful in treating acne scars.

Making a decision on the right acne scar treatment is hard. Try not to make a decision based on emotions but rather on facts. Think both short term and long term get the facts and to clarify any points that aren't clear to you. This will help you to make the best decision. Most people prefer a natural acne sure to a doctor visit because it's cheaper and sometimes more effective.

What is the Latest Cure For Acne?

Acne healing is altering very quickly. Research is ongoing around the world to discover acne treatments that can take care of acne at the preliminary stage. At the later on stage of acne enlargement, the chances of acne marks become very soaring and consequently scientists are giving over efforts to treat acne painlessly at the start itself. The following are the latest acne cures that are being used to get rid of spots.

Blue Light- P.acnes microbes are responsible for redness in the sebaceous glands causing spots. Blue light of low down intensity wipes out this bacterium. This is a simple process, which as a rule lasts for fifteen minutes per sitting. The gap of days for each treatment might fluctuate and will rest on your doctor. A number of side effects, such as inflammation, aridity and pigment change may take place as a result of blue light. By killing the germs, blue light treats acne fairly painlessly. Green-yellow light and high temperature energy- this blend of pulses of green-yellow light and heat energy is believed to kill the P.acnes bacteria and get smaller sebaceous glands. By decreasing the glands, sebum construction decreases. With decrease in sebum, acne shrinks and tumbles dry. It is the sebaceous gland that is the leave where spots form. By shrinking it, sebum production drops off and acne structure reduces.

Diode laser- this laser can eradicate the sebaceous glands. Diode laser does not damage the external layer of the skin. This type of treatment can be aching and can create ruddiness that is impermanent and can also create some bump that is also fleeting. The ache of laser can be reduced with use of anesthetics on the skin during the cure. By razing the sebaceous glands, acne can be controlled effectively.

Microdermabrasion and chemical peeling- these types of treatments can be used to take care of acne with other conventional therapies. Both these procedures are used to get rid of the dead skin, open the apertures and speed up the growth of new skin. Conventionally these procedures have been used to eliminate scars, sun smash up, fine wrinkles etc. They are now being attempted to take care of acne.

As you can see, there are many ways to get rid of acne. There are countless acne products, treatments and remedies to try. However, in my case nothing seemed to work for me. After suffering from acne for so long and trying many different remedies and products I finally found the best way to cure my acne in the fastest time. Stop Wasting Your Time With Acne Products That Don't Work

No longer do you have to keep settling for the same acne treatments. If you are like most of the people in this world, then you are still not seeing any results from your current acne treatment. The great news for you is that with you help of the internet, you are now able to find the latest treatments to get rid of acne fast.

It use to be that you only had two options to get rid of acne. The first option you would have was to use the same old "over the counter" medicines. The problem with "over the counter" medicines is that they are not made for any specific skin type. All major companies think that all the same treatments will work for everybody. It is completely ridiculous to think one kind of treatment will work for every different kind of skin type.

It use to be that the only way to get an acne treatment made for your skin type was to see your doctor. The problem with that is the cost. First you had to pay for your doctor's visit. Then you had to pay for the medicine. Between to two, you could easily spend a couple hundred dollars. The other problem with a doctor is the time frame. It is very rare that a doctor will prescribe you medicine on your first visit. The average doctor will have you try to change some things in your daily life first. If that does not work, then you would have to come in for a second visit before you get a prescription.

With the help of the internet, you are now able to find smaller companies that offer the latest acne treatments that are made for your skin. So stop using the same old "over the counter" treatments and start using the latest treatments that will allow you to get rid of acne fast.

Effective Acne Products

Acne is not an easy condition to treat. It is a disease of the skin that affects each individual differently and accordingly each case of serious acne has to be seen separately to give it a proper treatment. While there is no catch-all treatment, which can be used for all kind of acne, a lot of trial and error method would be needed to find an effective treatment for each individual.

While there are a lot of acne products that are being mass-marketed as the best cure for acne, it is imperative to understand that the products that are marketed towards acne sufferers in general and those that can be brought off the shelf in the supermarket do not actually cure acne. These only manage, hide or hold back the symptoms of acne. It is important to recognize this and also to realize that acne is not the resultant of poor hygiene.

If the acne is progressively getting worse, this cannot be remedied only by washing the skin frequently and by using an over the counter product. Medical advice needs to be taken for such cases and a stronger products that can be sourced only with prescription may need to be taken. The treatment for Acne are diverse and range from, off the shelf, to over-the-counter creams, to prescription and surgical solutions.

While over the counter acne products are usually topical medicines that contain Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid, these are generally used for treatment of mild acne cases where it is used to stop the acne and clear up some troublesome pimples.
The over the counter acne products can also be used during severe stages of acne in combination with other treatments. The Doctors generally recommend that the acne-infected area be cleaned gently with warm water and a mild soap, after which the topical treatment may be applied.

During the moderate or severe stage of acne, the doctors and dermatologists would use the combination of treatments to effectively bring down the disease. Light therapy and extraction are mostly used at the moderate stage and in combination with an oral antibiotic or a retinoid cream, again dependent on the observations and recommendations of ones doctor. Acne is a complex condition to cure and hence it is advised that there should not be any self medication done.

After the usage of an over-the-counter product and in the event that the same does not work, it shouldn’t be understood that the acne is incurable. A professional's medical advice should be sought for. A doctor or a dermatologist will try to halt the progress of the acne, prevent the prossibility of acne scarring, by using different combination of products. To seriously fight and stop acne, one should learn about the latest acne fighting products that are being launched and how they would be working for the specific type of acne, from ones own doctor. One needs to be as aggressive about fighting acne as acne is about progressing step by step into a serious condition.

Best Acne Product - What Ingredients Should it Contain?

Acne has almost become a universal skin problem, with millions of people across the globe, belonging to all age groups and skin types, being affected due to this chronic skin disorder. In fact, acne and pimples are considered to be inevitable during puberty and during the teens, owing to the drastic hormonal changes taking place in the human body. Acne can develop at different locations other than our face, such as over the neck, back, as well as on the shoulders or the chest. Acne can be of different types, and people of both the genders are equally affected due to acne problem. The most crucial problem associated with acne is removing acne scar. Although all the types of acne are not completely curable, acne and the resulting ugly scar can be controlled and managed with the use of the best acne product for your skin and with the maintenance of proper skin hygiene.

Acne and pimples can leave behind permanent ugly marks on your skin. Pimples, if not appropriately treated, can spread all over the face and also result in severe scarring. Therefore, it is quite important to make use of some of the most suitable pimple zit remedies, so that we can get rid of pimple quickly are effectively, without allowing them to spread further.

The best acne product that you select for your skin, should contain active ingredients which serve as exfoliants, deep pore cleansers, anti bacterials agents, anti inflammatory substances (to reduce redness and inflammation at the site where the acne has developed and also to aid in the repair of damaged cells), and antioxidants (such as Vitamin-C to fight the free radicals and prevent the damage caused to the skin because of these highly reactive substances), all of which help you in getting rid of pimple quickly. Some of the best acne products include - Clearpores Skin System, Acnezine, Vilantae, Murad, Zenmed Derma Cleanse System, Dermapure RX Advanced Acne Treatment Formula, Actimine, ClearSkin, Zeno Acne Clearing Device, DermaClear, Exposed Skin Care, etc.

Proper exfoliation of the skin helps to remove the dead skin cells and keeps the pores clean and unclogged, while the use of effective antibacterial agents such as triclosan helps prevent the growth of bacteria, thereby preventing the rise of infections. The redness and inflammation can be soothed and relieved with the use of allantoin or other effective anti inflammatory substances. Use of skin supplements (containing antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin B-complex and zinc) helps reduce the incidence of acne breakouts.

However, for the removal of whitehead and blackhead zit, regular facials (which involve administrations of steam to the skin for whitehead removal and blackhead extraction by a trained person) might be necessary. Sustained use of the best acne product for your skin, maintaining proper skin hygiene, and regular facials not only help control acne, but also aid in removing blackhead zit and in removing acne scar, although none of these measures can actually help in curing your acne problem completely.

Acne Product Checklist - 5 Ranking Factors

Safety

Choosing any acne product is largely the result of accepting the instructions of the dermatologist that provides the prescription, or alternatively of accepting the claims of the television or print advertising that attests to the safety of the product. A product that is prescribed or offered for sale in the United States can be assumed to have passed the rigorous testing standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration. This defines such things as whether the product has been manufactured according to rigid safety procedures and whether the expected usage will be safe for individuals using it according to instructions.

Ingredient Quality

An acne product offered for sale, aside from the safety standards above, can be expected to contain only ingredients that are of the highest quality.  Ingredients used in acne medication, or any other medication, for that matter, are tested and retested in the manufacturing process.  Most consumers do not even stop to consider whether the medications they take contain only quality products; they trust that the standards of production, testing and quality control put in place by the manufacturer and by the regulatory agencies of the U.S. government are enough to allow taking the product without worry.

Side Effects

Another factor upon which an acne product might be judged is that of the side effects that are created when the product is correctly used.  Obviously there may be some untoward effects if a product is used in ways or in amounts that are not according to instructions, but if it is used correctly and still has effects that are troublesome potentially dangerous, those symptoms should be noted so that they can be taken into consideration. Perhaps side effects will include excessive skin dryness or nausea or some other factors. Potential side effect information is usually included in the standard set of warning that come with the product labeling.

Effectiveness to Fight Acne

An acne product must be effective in fighting the scourge of acne lesions, scarring and pain. if clinical trials for a medication have been successfully completed, it is assumed that the product is effective or it would not be on the market, but not every product will be effective for every individual who is fighting acne. There may be levels of effectiveness that the victim of acne will need to be aware of before giving up completely on the product. The acne sufferers who don't see immediate results may be tempted to increase the dosage of the product and end up doing damage of another sort rather than showing improvement in the symptoms of acne.

User Satisfaction

Another way to measure an acne product is by the user satisfaction exhibited by those who are using the product. Satisfaction is not so much whether or not the product works, but whether the victim of acne is satisfied with the overall aspects of taking or using the product.  For example, the product may be completely effective in reducing or eliminating the visible signs of acne, but it may be uncomfortable or unpleasant to use for some reason.  This product is not going to have as high a rating for customer satisfaction.

Acne Products - Oral and Topical Acne Products

There are a number of products available for acne care. So if your acne is troubling you, you need not worry as there are a lot of treatments waiting for you.

There are two broad categories of acne products you will find in the market, oral and topical. The oral category consists of products you take in by the mouth. These include antibiotic pills and vitamin supplement pills. Topical treatments or products are the ones that are applied externally to the skin. These are available in the form of creams, gels, pads or lotions.

Let's have a look at what we have from the first group.

Oral antibiotics work by circulating through the body into the sebaceous glands, thus killing off acne causing bacteria. They are usually combined with other drugs to unclog follicles. The treatment can take several weeks or months. But a word of caution -- long term antibiotic use can lower immune function and make our body more susceptible to infection. So antibiotics should be used in moderate amounts.

Vitamin supplements also work wonders for your skin. This is for you if you want your skin to heal naturally. Vitamins improve the body's ability to create energy for skin rejuvenation. Vitamin A, C and E are widely used in acne products.

In the second category of acne treatments, we'll talk about the topical medications. Many of these products contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, both of which are well known in treating acne. They keep excess oil buildup at bay, but have a few side effects like irritation, drying, redness and peeling, thus making it unsuitable for people with sensitive skin.

These products work well for many people. But you still have to determine if your body can accommodate acne medications as not all people are the same. A product that is advantageous for one person may not be good for another. If you suffer from allergies, some contents in the medication might be bad for you. Look for hypoallergenic products, as these are more likely not to trigger allergies. It is recommended that you take the advice of your doctor before you go for any of the products so that you minimize the risk of any damage.

Getting to know about the different products and treatments is the first step. Don't start using a product without knowing what it will do for you. Learn about the different effects a product can have as nothing is risk free. You can go for a product once you are sure it's good for you.

Purchasing Acne Products - 3 Tips To Avoid The Wrong Ones

With so many over-the-counter acne products available, how do you go about picking and choosing the ones that will work for you? There is no simple answer to this question, unfortunately. But there are things you can look for in a product, and certain things that you can avoid.

So which acne products are useful or helpful, and which kinds can aggravate your skin or cause damage? Let's look at some of the more common products used in acne treatment and prevention.

1. Soap

The first, and most common acne fighting product is good old-fashioned soap. Of course, there's many more choices nowadays than in our grandparent's day; unfortunately not all of the extras in soaps are good for skin trying to fight off or prevent acne. For one thing, the soap you wash your body with is probably way too strong for use on your face. Facial cleansers are the answer to this problem. They are specially formulated for use on the more delicate skin of your face. They can be had in forms made for all types of skin, from oily to dry or sensitive. Cleansers made for acne prevention or healing are generally oil-free, to avoid clogging your pores, have gentle cleansing agents, and an acne-fighting ingredient like benzoyl peroxide. And guys, if you don't want to be seen buying cream cleansers for your face, at least get a gentle, oil-free bar soap that rinses away easily for use on your face.

No matter which cleanser you wind up getting, don't overdo it. Wash in accordance with the directions on the product, and no more than once or twice a day in any case. Be gentle when washing as well. Scrubbing too hard can leave open wounds and cracks in your skin that acne bacteria can more easily invade. And don't pop you pimples! This can't be stressed enough. Popping your pimples forced the bacteria deeper into your skin and bloodstream, allowing them to spread, as well as greatly increasing the probability of scarring.

2. Cosmetic

The wrong cosmetic can clog your pores, irritate your skin, and bring on an acne breakout. Fortunately, there are cosmetics available that are not oily, won't clog your pores, and even sometimes contain acne-fighting ingredients. No matter what, if a product causes skin irritation, stop using it and try a different product.

3. Choosing Acne and Skin Safe Products

Pay attention while shopping, and read the manufacturer's labels. These will often tell you what skin types the product is for, as well as ingredients and instructions. If you have oily skin, don't buy a moisturizing cleanser, for example. You need something that will help rid your skin of excess oils. People with dry skin, on the other hand, would use that product. If you have normal skin, you can probably use most products without too much trouble. But in all cases, test the products on a small, inconspicuous area overnight first, and check for irritation. If there is any, do not use that product. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer as to what acne product to choose. Everyone's skin is different, and what works for one person may cause you to get a rash (or just not help, more likely). Just try and restrict your choices to an intelligent subset based on your skin type, and you will find one that works for you.
